Destination Wedding Story: Meha + Utsav in Samode, Rajasthan

Destination weddings are such a delight and, more so, Rajasthan in the winter is a treat to shoot in. Meha and Utsav were married towards the end of 2013 amidst an intimate group of family and friends at Samode Palace and Samode Bagh in Rajasthan, about 40 minutes before Jaipur.

The events were beautifully planned, the decor was thoughtful and very thematic, food and alcohol flowed freely and it was one of the most fun weddings of the last year.

The couple had been schoolmates for most of their lives but didn’t discover love until very recently — just goes to show how, sometimes, we all miss the most obvious facts! From their difference in height to their choice of careers, Meha and Utsav couldn’t be more different, but one look at them together and you’ll know exactly what love looks like.

The wedding celebrations began with a small cocktail party in Delhi for all those who would be unable to attend at Samode.

Meha’s dad, the rockstar, was always the last one off the dance floor.

The festivities at Samode were kicked off with the Haldi, which was a small affair that took place in Meha’s suite terrace. There was a fountain, which encouraged a Holi-like ending to the rituals, complete with EVERYBODY getting haldi in return and being splashed from the fountain!!

The cocktail evening had a Bollywood retro theme and, of course, had lots of choreographed AND non-choreographed dancing. But before that, we managed to sneak a few minutes alone with the couple…
