A Chandigarh Wedding Photography Story
Sonam & Vineet are one of the rare cases of arranged-turned-love marriages. I’m sure that eventually most of the arranged marriages end up with a happy story, but these two seemed so deeply in love in a short span of time, I was positive that this was a rare and special case.
The wedding was held in Chandigarh, at the JW Marriott, so that the extended family from different parts of Punjab could make it to the event easily. Spread over 3 days, the wedding was a fantastic combination of family time, traditions, fun and laughter.
We managed to get some alone time with the couple to get a few couple portraits…
The first day of functions included the Sagan and Chunni ceremonies for the groom and bride respectively… Here is Vineet patiently waiting for the bridal party to arrive.
Lots of love being showered by the grooms parents on both, the groom and the bride.
The traditions & ceremonies…
Sonam, weighed down by all her gifts!
The dance party & performances that followed the Sagan…
Sonam’s Mehendi ceremony…
A glimpse of the Chooda ceremony…
The baraat, in two parts – on a ghodi (female horse) and a vintage car!
Enter the bride…
The ceremony…
The sleepy groom and his parents – in their defence, the pheras (ceremony) lasted from 2-5 am!
Happy and refreshed when they realised that the end (of the ceremony) was near!
Now that they were bound as husband & wife, the bidaai (farewell)…
Sonam is definitely the most vivacious and happy bride we have shot so far and it was a real pleasure shooting their wedding… We were having so much fun that we almost missed our early morning train back home!
